DanChurchAid, Mopti, Mali.
Recent and on-going armed conflict in Mali has resulted in contamination of weapons and Explosive Remnants of War. This impacts the safety and mobility of the civilian population and impedes stabilisation efforts. Improvised Explosive Devices and land mines also adversely affect livelihoods, freedom of movement as well as the safe return of Internally Displaced People, and economic recovery.
I travelled to Mali with DanChurchAid to the Mopti region to document their Armed Violence Reduction project. The overall aim of this project is to promote safe behaviour in relation to guns and ammunitions.
