DanChurchAid, Bor, South Sudan.
Contamination of explosive remnants of war (ERW) and land mines continue to pose a humanitarian threat to the civilian population in South Sudan. While clearance efforts have been ongoing for several years, large areas of hostile but populated terrain are still heavily contaminated. To address the threat of ERW in South Sudan, DanChurchAid has deploying two Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams and a Risk Education team to remove deadly ERW and to deliver key messages about mines, ERW and safe behaviour.
